M.T.M. S.r.l., an Italian company headquartered in Cherasco (CN), owner of the BRC Gas Equipment trademark, is among the world leaders in manufacturing and marketing components and systems for converting vehicles from petrol to LPG and CNG. Established in 1977, M.T.M. - BRC Gas Equipment Co. has grown rapidly to become, over very few years, one of the principal companies in the automotive alternative fuel sector.
Following the initial development of this company, mainly dedicated to the production of multivalves, M.T.M. - BRC Gas Equipment Co. started, in the Eighties, to manufacture a complete range of LPG and CNG components. BRC took its place amongst leading edge technology companies when, in 1991, it brought to the market its first carburetion control electronic system and, in 1996, its first Italian LPG and CNG gaseous injection system.
Personnel have progressively increased to the current level of about 500 employees operating in four plants on a total covered surface of 40,000 square meters; over 100 dealers, distributors and agents form a worldwide sales network assuring the presence of the BRC trademark in 60 countries.
M.T.M. S.r.l. Co. now benefits from the appreciation and approval of operators and users of BRC Gas Equipment systems as a result of its 25-year experience in this field and in BRC’s continual research into, and design of, new technical solutions, after-sales assistance and installers’ technical support and training.
M.T.M. - BRC Gas Equipment Co. produces a complete range of systems for converting vehicles from petrol to LPG and CNG to meet any market requirement, from the simple systems for carburettor vehicles to the highly sophisticated systems for Euro IV vehicles equipped with OBD diagnostics.
“Sequent” is a particularly important BRC product: it is a modern, innovative and sophisticated gaseous injection system, characterised by ease of installation and adopted by OEMs because of its advanced technology and excellent performance.
All BRC components are conceived and developed “in-house” with state of the art facilities, CAD-3D drawing systems of the latest generation, laboratories for static and dynamic tests and various types of vehicle and emission test benches equipped with modal analysis systems.
BRC products are designed and manufactured in accordance with the high quality standards assured by the Quality system certification UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and comply
with current regulations (R67-01, R110 and ISO 15500) and the EEC anti-pollution (EuroIII and EuroIV) and EMC norms.
Conversions are undertaken in a large in-house installation centre where zero kilometre
OEM production of bi-fuel vehicles takes place, on behalf of different OEMs. The conversion process carried out at BRC has to meet the stringent quality standards set by the OEMs.
Since its inception, MTM – BRC Gas Equipment Co. has considered in-house knowledge of every phase of product conception, development, production and integration as a strategic part of the process. All components required to convert vehicles from petrol to LPG and CNG such as, for instance, changeover switches and carburetion ECUs, are developed and produced in the factory.
Aware of the increasingly competitive worldwide market, in the last years
M.T.M. – BRC Gas Equipment Co. has started a process to decentralise its production activities with the creation of two new operations in South America. In 2000 BRC Argentina was established in Buenos Aires, involved in CNG equipment production, installation and marketing and in 2002 WMTM Co. (a JV with White Martins, Brazilian branch of the Praxair American group) was established in the new and imposing plant of Manaus (Amazon) to meet the growing demands of the Brazilian market: it now has 70 employees and constitutes a fundamental part of the strategy to grow the BRC presence in South America.
In 2003 M.T.M. - BRC Gas Equipment Co. finalised a prestigious strategic alliance agreement with the American company
Impco, world leader in gaseous fuel industrial applications. This agreement envisages significant commercial and technological synergies and heralded the birth of the most important grouping of companies in the ecologically sustainable alternative fuel sector, assuring prospects of new complementary markets, investment and technology capabilities with remarkable profits predicted for both companies.
Well-established alliances with several major car-makers are further evidence of the BRC product line's high tech regard and quality level. In both Italy and internationally the BRC trademark is branded to: PSA Peugeot-Citroën, Ford, Jaguar, DaimlerChrysler, MAN, Volkswagen, FIAT-Tofas, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, Subaru, Maruti Suzuki, Dewan-Hyundai.
M.T.M. S.r.l. Co. is also involved in important trade associations like the Consorzio Ecogas,, the Italian automotive gas field association. More information:
